Drawing upon his experience serving on a number of boards as well as his work in the private business intelligence industry, Jack discussed the importance of companies and their boards doing their due diligence ahead of a deal – whether it’s due diligence on a potential business partner, an acquisition target, an industry, or a country. According to Jack, companies and their boards need on-the-ground information to mitigate potential risks. Jack argues that ultimately, tough questions need to be asked to protect the company, and it’s best when boards develop a culture that accepts this as part of doing business.
