According to Mattingly, “López Obrador’s election would have serious implications for the economic growth trajectory for Mexico and, in turn, the bilateral relationship with the United States.”

Jack commented that Haspel is a professional and a careerist who has been painted unfairly. He noted that the hearings will be useful to bring the facts to light and also underscored the significance of Haspel being the first woman to be nominated to lead the CIA. With respect to Russia, Jack said the expulsion demonstrates a toughening of the US position.
